I Wish To Sync To The Clouds
There's this thing called cycle syncing where you plan each week of caring for yourself based on the four phases/weeks of your menstrual cycle. It makes sense and it's a real thing, but I'm not sure how to practice it as I think like most women, I've been conditioned to work through the pain, the grog, and the fog.
I can feel the changes but cannot build the routines.
I wish to sync to the clouds instead. My brain and body seems to connect better with the sky than to each other.
Not to mention dealing with things that are out of my control... often, bumps in the road throw me off center.
But understanding that I have a center is a few hundred steps from where I was a few years ago. There's always room to grow and change, it just takes time with a shift in perspective.
I came across this poem and wish to share it — It feels very relevant to today's mood:
make peace
with all the women
you once were.
lay flowers
at their feet.
offer them incense
and honey
and forgiveness.
honor them
and give them
your silence.
listen.
bless them
and let them be.
for they are the bones
of the temple
you sit in now.
for they are
the rivers
of wisdom
leading you toward
the sea.
